He joined Gabbs in September 2020 and was appointed a Director in April 2023. Thomas works in our Hay on Wye office and advises on both residential and commercial property matters.
James Horsey
Director, Solicitor
James is the head of our civil litigation department in our Hereford office and undertakes work in most areas of civil disputes including personal injury, property and boundary disputes, consumer rights matters, landlord and tenant, employment law, professional negligence, inheritance disputes and breach of contract matters.

Rachael is a Director based at the Leominster office specialising in Agricultural and Residential Property. She has over 22 years of experience advising thousands of clients during her career
Jennifer Lewis
Director, Chartered Legal Executive (FCilex)
Jenny joined Gabbs in 2015, graduating from Staffordshire University with a Graduate Diploma in Law in 2017, and winning the Worcester Law Society Student of the Year upon Graduation. She qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in August 2023.
Carolyn Theobald
Director, Consultant Solicitor
Carolyn Theobald joined us in May 2007 and operates out of our Hay office. She studied law at Exeter University and at the College of Law in Chester before embarking on her legal career in Lincoln's Inn in 1976.

Melanie is one of our Directors and has over 20 years’ experience in property work.
Angela Palliser
Practice Manager
Angela has management experience in several professional services sectors. She is responsible for the financial management of the company and for personnel and other key areas of practice administration.

Stephanie joined Gabbs in November 2022 previously having worked within the NHS. She is responsible for day-to-day office management including personnel and account areas.

Jeremy Wilding MBE – Consultant Solicitor & Diocesan Registrar Jeremy Wilding was educated at Hereford Cathedral School. He then read Law at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he was a choral scholar in the college’s famous choir.
Hannah Dudley

Based in the Hereford office, Hannah joined Gabbs in March 2021 as a Commercial Property Solicitor and, prior to relocating to Hereford, worked for firms of various sizes in Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham.
Stacey Janes
Associate Chartered Legal Executive FCilex
Stacey Janes joined the Hereford branch of Gabbs in 2004, gaining a wide level of experience whilst completing her legal qualifications. Stacey qualified in 2009 from the Worcester College of Technology with a distinction in conveyancing practice and was granted Fellowship to the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in July 2011.

Anne is the head of our family team and has over 30 years' experience in family law, dealing with divorce, separation, children and financial matters.
Sarah Charlesworth
Solicitor
Sarah joined Gabbs as a receptionist in our Leominster office in July 2018, having just graduated with a first class law degree from Bangor University. She undertook her LPC with the University of Law in Birmingham, completing this in 2020.
Fiona Davies
Solicitor
Born and educated in Shrewsbury Shropshire, Fiona studied a law and French degree at Keele University Staffordshire. Fiona lived and worked in France and Canada before moving to Herefordshire.
Nikki Doherty
Solicitor
Nikki started her legal career in 2001 as an Office Junior and now has 22 years’ experience in legal firms. Nikki qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2013 and was admitted as a Solicitor in 2017. Nikki’s experience, qualifications and passion is merged in Private Client work. Nikki drafts Wills, administers Estates, implements, and registers Powers of Attorney, advises on tax, deals with Court of Protection cases for vulnerable adults and assists with contentious probate actions. Outside of work, Nikki is a keen triathlete and trail runner.

Nav is a Solicitor based in our Hereford Office. She deals with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Administration of Estates, and Court of Protection matters.
Sue Godwin
Probate Executive
Based at our Hereford Office, Sue is a probate executive who has worked in our private client team for over 17 years. As a legal PA, she has assisted in helping many hundreds of clients dealing with probate, will drafting and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Elizabeth joined Gabbs in January 2025 as a Litigation Paralegal and looks forward to progressing her career with the firm. Elizabeth provides support to our Litigation Solicitor James Horsey and Legal Secretary Karen Jones.

Cora Jones
Trainee Solicitor
Born and raised in Herefordshire, Cora graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2021 with an Honours degree in Law before joining Gabbs in January 2024 as a Private Client secretary. Upon completion of her Master of Laws in Professional Legal Practice in August 2024, Cora began her Training Contract in our Hay office where she is currently undertaking her first seat in the Property team.
Beth Toghill
Trainee Licensed Conveyancer
Beth came to Gabbs after relocating from Devon with her partner and is currently training to become a Licensed Conveyancer. She works in both the Hereford and Leominster offices as a Paralegal in the Conveyancing department. She has this year passed four out of five of her exams for her first qualification and hopes to have that fifth exam in the bag in a few months.

As Hereford Diocesan Registry Clerk, Michelle acts as clerk to the Registrar. A background in business with a foreign language, Michelle began her career with a management consultancy firm in London before moving to Hong Kong.
Katy Betambeau

Katy started off at Gabbs on a work experience placement and after completing her placement was offered a job as a Legal Secretary, supporting various departments. She now work alongside Jim as his Legal Secretary in the Conveyancing Department.
Tabitha Cox
Legal Secretary
After starting out in retail, Tabitha moved over to the legal profession in 2007 when she became a legal secretary for a local firm of solicitors.
After spending over ten years in conveyancing Tabitha joined our Private Client Team in October 2024 and is based in our Hereford office. She works for solicitors Joe Edwards and Navdeep Kaur Gill.
In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Dawn Davis
Receptionist/Legal Secretary
Dawn joined our office in Leominster as a Receptionist in December 2018. In March 2019 she also took on the role of Secretary for Anne Vincent, working in the Family Department.
Hannah Eversham

Hannah is from Herefordshire originally, but has lived in Yorkshire and Lancashire, and has spent the last few years living in British Columbia, Canada.

Having relocated from Kent to Hereford in June 2021 joined Gabbs in August 2022 initially started on two days a week on reception and then became full time and worked in the Private Client Team. Now have transferred into Accounts where am now Credit Controller.
Wendy Griffiths

Wendy has many years of experience as a legal secretary and prior to joining the Private Client Department at Gabbs, she worked for a variety of legal institutions, including American Law Firms in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. When she is not working at Gabbs, she can be found behind her desk at home, writing, or out on the golf course. She recently had a cosy crime novel published and enjoys the combination of working in a busy office, writing and playing golf.

Joined Gabbs in 2013 working in the litigation department, and currently provides support to James Horsey in our litigation department.

Karen has been a Secretary in our Commercial Conveyancing Department since January 2021, although she has been associated with Gabbs since 2003 having worked as a temp around the city when her children were young.
Megan Meredith

Based in our Hay on Wye Office, Megan is a Legal Secretary who assists Thomas Bagley in the Property Department. Megan joined Gabbs in 2022 following the successful completion her Law Degree at Aberystwyth University.
Louise Parish

Louise joined Gabbs in 2008 and is Carolyn Theobald’s secretary. They have have worked together for nearly 20 years and we are part of a very happy team in the Hay-on-Wye office.

Helen joined the Gabbs team in Hay on Wye as a Legal Secretary in 2016. She supports Melanie Tree in the Commercial Property / Conveyancing Department 4 days a week.

Jane lives in Herefordshire and I have worked within the profession since leaving college at 18 as a secretary, apart from having a break to have her children.

Michelle is a legal assistant based in our Leominster office. She works alongside Stacey Janes, Associate Chartered Legal Executive, in the Conveyancing department. She joined Gabbs in December 2017 having previously worked in social housing.
Margaret Turney

Margaret came to Gabbs (then R Trevor Griffiths & Co) as her first job after leaving Secretarial College in 1972. She remained with the firm for seven years during which time the firm became part of Gabb & Co.

Anita started working in the legal profession when she left college many years ago and has lived in Herefordshire most of her life.

Based in our Hay office, Millie is a Legal Secretary assisting Sarah Charlesworth in the Private Client Department. Having completed her A-Levels at Llandrindod High School, she is now currently working for Gabbs alongside contemporaneously studying a law degree with Arden University. Gabbs is providing a great foundation for Millie’s career in law.

Danita one of our two Receptionists at our Hereford office. She started her career with a Youth Opportunity Programme at a lighting company and then moved in to the travel Industry working for when she was 17 years old, where she discovered a love of travel.

Christine started her career in Travel & Tourism. She moved to Hereford from Preston, Lancashire in 1996 where she retrained in Business Administration.
