A blend of animation styles brings to life the testimony of Amin, an Afghan refugee now living in Denmark. Film director Jonas interviews his old school friend Amin, to reveal a story of love, survival and resilience, told with extraordinary intimacy and directness for the first time. After a happy childhood in Afghanistan, Amin fled war-torn ‘80s Kabul, gradually coming to terms with his sexuality to a new life as a successful academic in Denmark. As he prepares commit to long-term partner Kasper, Amin recalls former fears of persecution, while vivid animation helps to conjure up memories and traumas that would otherwise be lost or inexpressible.
